Bighearted Scot with .......

Bighearted Scot winner with Business Person runner up Michelle Mone

Runners up - Bighearted Child of the Year

Abby Tomb and Lauren Riddell

Abby suffers from Lupus, an autoimmune disease which attacks her kidneys and makes her weak and tired. Despite this she volunteers 3 days a month to help Kidney Research UK and has raised around £10,000.

Lauren, another brave young lady, suffers from Neurofibromatosis, which causes severe joint pain and swelling and has also recently recovered from Von Willebrands Disease.  However, this doesn't stop her fundraising for Cancer Relief UK by holding garden fetes, candle parties and taking part in the 'Race for Life'.
Congratulations girls.

Cathy & Nicola

MSP Cathy Jamieson with Nicola Sturgeon

Cathy was particularly pleased to attend the awards in support of Bighearted Carer winner Brenda Emmerson

Special Award Winner - Anne Wallace

Anne with Miss Scotland, sponsor of the award businesswoman Vera Weisfeld and Nicola Sturgeon

Anne was recommended for this special award for her services with church group Salt and Light which takes a converted bus into Glasgow's red light district to offer support to vice girls.  The bus provides a safe haven for the girls and Anne is a firm favourite for her understanding but cheerful chat.
